That's another can of worms. It doesn't have a model number? Maybe inside? Examine it closely, in a methodical way, reading everything printed on it or molded onto the case. There should be a way to put it into programming mode to set the time and set back settings. I would look closely at the possible positions of the levers you mentioned.

Be sure that one of those don't have a 'set' mode or position. Google the brand and model number, see what you get.

Also look for a not obvious door or cover. What your looking for might be under that. If you don't see any clues from the outside you might try to take the cover off and have access to the innards. There may be a small slide switch that needs to be put in the set mode to activate the time button.
