Welcome to Creative Worldwide Support. Get technical help for your Creative products through Knowledgebase Solutions, firmware updates, driver downloads and more. I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi on a Dell XPS 710. Installed Windows 7 64-bit. Everything went great. Downloaded and installed the new drivers from Creative for this.
PRe: SB0460 X-Fi XtremeMusic + Windows7 Ultimate 64 + nati've driver = no sound ((8 That driver does not install as 'just a stand alone' fresh install driver. Try this: Go to windows update and let your system scan for drivers, it should show that microsoft has an X-FI driver for you. Now the driver is just that, a driver.
But after words, you can install again, the one that you have and you will have autoupdate on your system that should show you a few more updates. Me, I would install this:? After installing that, you can update with Creative's newest updates easily.
Hi So i bought this card creative sb0460 and installed it on my asrock z77 extreme 4. El Conejo Lector. It appears as a 'multimedia audio device' under other devices instead of sound devices in device manager. I have win 8 64bit 8gb ram i7 2600k. I've tried installing the drivers from creative's site but the drivers after installation say that it cant find creative device on the system and exits. Ive seen people say that using a third party modified driver might help but ive tried them all inculding the new ones for win 8 and some that were recently uploaded on creative supports own site too but windows still doesnt recognize my soundcard as a soundcard at all nethter do the drivers.
I've disabled the onboard devices too but that didnt work either. On eightforums i found a guy who was modifying creative drivers to work for people who had issues similiar to me and by using his inf i was able to at least get my card to be recognized as creative xifi audio processor under sounds, but with an exclamation mark claiming that the card cannot start. At one point it also said that resources were missing and that i needed to deactivate another device for this one to start but that was only once and i did deactivate all other sound devices even from the bios to no success. I've switched slots too. I seriously havent tried this hard to get something to work in my whole life and have pretty much given up after a week of restless nights.
